A Swiss Fairytale: Our Unforgettable Road Trip with an Akita Inu

Accompanying them was a spirited and loyal Akita Inu named Chiyoko, their four-legged travel companion. Their journey, starting from Alicante, spanned across the breathtaking landscapes of Switzerland, and they've come back with memories to share and tips for your next Swiss adventure.

Their odyssey began in the dark, wee hours of a Saturday morning. At 4 AM sharp, the car was packed and ready for the 12-hour drive that lay ahead. The destination: the charming city of Geneva. After a tiresome yet scenic journey, the team made a pit stop at the cozy Ibis hotel in Geneva. Though the travel weary, they managed to stretch their legs with an evening walk, soaking in the fresh Swiss air before calling it a night.

Geneva proved to be just the tip of the iceberg. The charming city's exploration was a tantalizing teaser of what Switzerland had to offer. But there was more to come, as they reserved an entire piece focused on Geneva to treat you with later on.

The next stop was not too far. Unterseen, a picturesque town wedged between two glorious lakes near Interlaken, welcomed the team and Chiyoko with open arms. They found an adorable campsite and decided to stay for a few days, immersed in the serenity and simple beauty of nature. Nothing beats waking up to a crisp mountain morning, and that’s precisely what the team experienced when they ventured to explore the local mountains. Their destination was Schynige Platte. They hopped aboard a historic train and ascended to panoramic views with Interlaken and shimmering lakes on one side, and the majesty of snow-capped mountains on the other. With a visit to the botanical garden, a hike along the panoramic trail, and the haunting melodies of the alphorn, it was an experience plucked straight from a fairy tale.

Alas, the weather turned. Overcast skies and a light drizzle suggested a change of plans, and soon they were en route to Lucerne, just an hour's drive away. Lucerne, renowned beyond its famous Kapellbrücke, opened up like a storybook despite the grey skies, proving the team's last-minute decision to be a stroke of genius. Ever heard of Interlaken, the capital of adventure in Switzerland? That was the next dot on our map. The team delved into the thrilling heart of this town, and they can't wait to tell you why it's earned its title.

From the heart of adventure to the pulse of natural beauty, the road led them to Grindelwald First. Renowned for hiking and its awe-inspiring views, they tested their adrenaline with the First Cliff Walk, soared on the back of the First Glider, sped down hills on a mountain cart and trotti bike, and stood in awed silence by the mirror-like waters of Bachalpsee, reflecting the snowy peaks above. The trip wouldn’t be complete without a foray into the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, Ticino. There, they discovered Valle Maggia, the enchanting valley that holds the magic of Ticino in its folds. With a night spent in the captivating city of Lugano, complemented by a delightful dinner, their senses were fully rewarded.

The journey charmed, thrilled, and calmed in equal measure, but the time had come to wrap up. A quick visit to Bern preceded their long drive back to Alicante. They were leaving, but they carried with them the unforgettable essence of Switzerland: The mesmerizing alpine landscapes, the charm of the towns and cities, the thrills of adventure, and an intimate connection with nature. An adventure like this offers not just splendid visuals but also revives the spirit with Swiss cuisine and activities for every kind of traveler.
